This Privacy Policy explains how The Gamehole LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Gamehole Con Companion mobile app (the "App") for iOS and Android. The App is a companion to the Gamehole Con convention: it lets attendees browse the event schedule, view venue and exhibit-hall maps, manage their personal schedule and family members, and receive event reminders. Account management, badge purchases, and registration happen on our website, gameholecon.com, and are governed by the website's privacy policy.

Information We Collect

  • Account information. When you sign in, we use your Gamehole Con account, which is identified by your email address. Sign-in is handled through gameholecon.com; the App stores a session token on your device to keep you signed in.
  • Convention data tied to your account. To show your personalized experience, the App retrieves data associated with your account from our servers — such as your registration/badge status, your event schedule, your family members and their badges, and your wishlist. Most of this is read-only in the App.
  • Push notification token. If you enable notifications, we register a device push token (from Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging) along with your platform and the App version, so we can send you event reminders and updates.
  • Usage & diagnostics. We collect app-usage analytics (for example, which screens are viewed) and crash/diagnostic reports through Google Firebase, to understand how the App is used and to fix problems. This may include a device/instance identifier, device model, operating-system version, and app version.

The App does not collect your precise or approximate location, and it does not request access to your camera, photos, microphone, or contacts. We do not use advertising identifiers, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell your personal information.

How We Use Information

  • Provide and personalize the App (your schedule, family, maps, and registration info).
  • Send event reminders and convention updates you have opted into.
  • Diagnose crashes, monitor reliability, and improve features.
  • Keep the App and your account secure.

Service Providers

We share limited information with providers that help us operate the App:

  • Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics) — push delivery, crash reporting, and usage analytics. See Google's privacy information.
  • Apple Push Notification service — delivery of notifications on iOS.

These providers process data on our behalf under their terms; we do not sell data to them or anyone else.

Children & Family Members

Gamehole Con supports family registrations in which a parent or guardian manages badges for their children. Family members appear in the App as accounts managed by their guardian, and event reminders for a child are delivered to the managing guardian. Children do not sign in to or operate the App themselves. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data Retention

We keep account-related information for as long as your Gamehole Con account is active or as needed to provide the App and comply with legal obligations. Push tokens are removed when you disable notifications or uninstall the App. Analytics and crash data are retained per our providers' standard retention periods.

Your Choices & Rights

  • Notifications. You can turn notification types on or off in the App's notification settings, or disable notifications for the App in your device settings.
  • Access & deletion. You can request access to, or deletion of, your account and associated personal data by contacting us at the email below, or through your account on gameholecon.com. Deleting your account removes your personal profile data associated with the App.

Data Security

The App communicates with our servers over encrypted HTTPS connections, and your session token is kept in the device's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, Keystore-backed storage on Android). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

International Data

We are based in the United States and process data there. If you use the App from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the United States.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
