Welcome to the Wardens of the Eastern Marches Organized Play Experience!
Before choosing options for volunteering for the Wardens of the Eastern Marches hall at Gamehole Con, please review our Game Master Policies. All Dungeon Masters and members of the Admin Team are responsible for following these Policies. There are two different opportunities for volunteering for our Wardens program so please join both or either of them if they interest you:
Dungeon Master
This is quite frankly the most important role that we have. Once you have volunteered to be a Dungeon Master for Wardens of the Eastern Marches, we will follow with a survey to find out how many of our adventures and what specific adventures you are willing to run. To volunteer to be a Dungeon Master, you must join our WotEM Dungeon Master Group.
Set-up/Tear-down
We will be setting up the WotEM hall on Wednesday afternoon of Gamehole Con week. Once we have the hall set up, we will be having our DM Meeting. Further, we will be tearing down the hall on Sunday, after the last games are complete. We very much appreciate that help and please note that volunteering to help us with this does count towards your total volunteering hours for badge reimbursement.
After signing up to volunteer:
Please make sure to fill out our WotEM Volunteer Form, as this will let us know your intent and availability for volunteering.
Please join our WotEM Discord Channel. You can join that here.
We will use the email you entered in our Volunteer Form to send you your schedule as well as the actual adventures that you will be running.
For any questions about any of this, please contact our lead admins, Raquel Serrano Sargent or Janelle Brauncowski here
Wardens of the Eastern Marches Volunteer Rewards
Wardens games are scheduled to have a running time of 3 hours each. They will be scheduled in 4-hour slots to allow for games running long, to allow for more time to rest, recharge, and get something to eat, and to allow for a more relaxed pace generally. However, despite the 3-hour planned running time, Wardens DMs will get 4 hours of volunteer credit for each Wardens session that they run.
This is important because as a DM at Gamehole Con, you are entitled to receive:
- Access to the GM & Special Guest Lounge.
- If you DM for 14 or more hours, you receive a full weekend badge refund.
- Each game you run you get entered in a GM Rewards Raffle (DM shifts only).
Further Wardens Specific DM Volunteer Rewards
Beyond the general GM rewards that Gamehole Con offers, as a Wardens DM you will receive additional benefits. We track these benefits by numbers of Wardens sessions ran rather than by hours. These additional benefits are:
- 1 session – Access to the Warden’s Lounge (bottomless coffee, water, and snacks) and 1 custom Wardens d20
- 2 sessions - Your choice of Alliance Pin
- 3 sessions – Exclusive Wardens DM Tee Shirt
- 4 sessions – Your choice of partner RPG product (Wotc, Ghostfire Gaming, Kobold Press)
- 5 sessions – Wardens Dice Vault
- 6 sessions – Room share (potentially 4 to a double queen room with a pull out sofa)
- 8 sessions - Custom Wardens Wooden DM Screen
- 10 sessions - Your choice of Alliance Signet Ring
Room Shares
A few things about our room shares:
- All rooms have two double beds and a pull out sofa.
- Requests for roommates are handled on a case-by-case basis.
- To ensure your request is fulfilled, confirm you are signed up for 6 sessions before submitting your request.
